Starting a conception routine

In the first months of trying, the job is a routine you can keep every day, with folate in place before a positive test. Each brand on this list sells a product made for this stage: Bird&Be and Perelel sell daily packs, Eu Natural sells a 2-capsule formula for each partner, Fairhaven Health sells FertilAid from a wider fertility catalog, and Theralogix sells TheraNatal OvaVite as a preconception vitamin. Every one of them also sells a separate product for the male partner. If either of you already takes a multivitamin, compare the labels so the same nutrients are not doubled.

What to check before you buy

  • What to look for

Read whether the product is a conception formula, a pack, or a prenatal with a conception stage.

  • Common mismatch

Ordering a brand's pregnancy product, such as a trimester pack or a prenatal, when its conception product is a separate item.

  • If a clinic is involved

The clinic's list wins. Take the label to the appointment so the clinician can see what is in the routine.

  • What the scores rate

Scores rate the label and the published price, not your chance of conceiving.

Brands with a product for the first months of trying

Each brand gets three sub-scores from 1 to 10. The overall score weights cost at 25%, ingredient quality at 35%, and fertility targeting at 40%.

Price bands compare each brand's published price with the other reviewed brands, from $ for the lowest to $$$ for the highest. Scores last reviewed October 27, 2026.

Common questions when you have just started trying

What should a first conception routine include?

Start with folate in a product made for trying to conceive. Eu Natural's Conception for Her lists L-methylfolate, vitamin D3, CoQ10, and myo-inositol at 2 capsules a day, and Perelel's Conception Support Pack puts a core prenatal, CoQ10, and omega in one daily pack. CoQ10 is optional, and the evidence for it is mixed.

How much does a first routine cost?

Eu Natural lists Conception for Her at $34.99 a bottle, and Fairhaven Health lists FertilAid at $38.99. Perelel lists the Conception Support Pack at $49.95 a month, and Bird&Be lists its Female Fertility Power Prenatal Pack at $63. Theralogix lists TheraNatal OvaVite at $124 for a 13-week supply. These are the brands' published prices from October 2026, and they can change.

Does the male partner need a separate product?

If the male partner will take something, choose a product written for men instead of sharing a prenatal. Eu Natural sells Conception for Him at $34.99, Bird&Be sells a Male Fertility Power Pack at $78, Fairhaven Health sells FertilAid for men at $38.99, and Theralogix sells ConceptionXR Reproductive Health at $66 for 90 days. Perelel lists its Men's Multi Support Pack as an add-on at $42.70 a month.

When should we see a clinician?

A visit before you start is a good time to ask about medication or a health condition, and you can bring the label so the clinician sees what is in the routine. If you have been trying for a year, or for six months at age 35 or older, a clinician should be involved.
